Sun Lakes couple’s bucket list takes them to the Falkland Islands
Wade and Paula Cunkelman removed another item from their Bucket List this February. They flew to Buenos Aries, where they toured and observed some real Argentina tango dancers. Then they boarded the Star Princess for a 31 day journey around South America. Of course, they visited many ports, but the one stop that really was outstanding was the Port of Stanley, Falkland Island. It was here where they met the colony of King Penguins. This tour required several hours of four-wheel travel over rough terrain, but it was really worth the trip. Continuing around the southernmost part of South America, they rounded Cape Horn and proceeded north to Ushuaia, Argentina. This is a beautiful region similar to Alaska. After a unique train ride in Ushuaia, they boarded the Star Princess and sailed up the Chilean West coast including the Chilean fjords. What a beautiful part of the world. After visiting the Amalia Glacier, they headed for warmer waters. The ports in Chile were interesting and they visited ports in Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Mexico.
This journey was a wonderful experience that only makes one realize what a wonderful country we call home. Anyone interested is planning an experience like this should contact the Cunkelmans who would be happy to share more details of this adventure.
