Sun Lakes Women’s Association elects new board for 2015

Charlotte Newberry

With every new year comes change and new beginnings. The Association is no different. A new governing board has been elected for 2015. Colette McNally is the new president; Marge Shipe is continuing as vice president; Sandy Bealmear is now secretary ; Dorothy Meek is returning corresponding secretary and Diane Lyon is treasurer.

As always, we work year round towards the bazaar. But a lot of folks don’t realize that we are open for business all year long. If you need any household items (including furniture) just call 480-895-9270, ext. 220 and you will be able to set up a time to see whatever you need. The same number is to be called if you would like to donate any items in good condition. Every penny we earn goes back into servicing Sun Lakes Country Club; Cottonwood Palo Verde; Ironwood/Iron Oaks; the Fire Department and Neighbors Who Care. We are here to serve the whole community. Keep your eyes open for information concerning the upcoming book/bake sale and later the annual golf tournament.

A great way to volunteer for community service is to come to the weekly gathering of the Women’s Association which meets on Monday mornings from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club Clubhouse. So many activities are going on at that time – flower arranging, painting, crafts of all kinds and the Recycled Treasures group.

Any lady living in the Sun Lakes area is welcome to attend and be part of this community minded group. Also, if you have any storage space you are not using and are able to donate it for our use, we would really appreciate it. You may do so by calling the above number. Come and join us for fellowship, coffee and work with a purpose. Hope to see you soon!
