Dianne Winenger
There are such artistic and talented individuals in our group, but we all had to applaud Lou Martin on a Southwest Kachina that he recently completed. Lou has carved a number of these and other items over the years, but the details here make this one truly a masterpiece. Congratulations, Lou!
But, do not let this discourage you from joining us! We welcome beginners, those who want to check out what we carve and those who just wish to visit, chat about their art forms and ideas or share thoughts on Southwest art and wood carving in general. We invite skilled carvers as well as an individual who wants to give it a try. There are many who will guide you to create your own or give you suggestions to inspire. Guaranteed to bring a smile and it’s practically free. All you need is a knife — carving knife.
You will find us at the Cottonwood Ceramics Room on Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For more information, call Wally Jasien at 480-895-8281 or Margaret Ryan at 480-802-6535.
