Sunday Night Couples Dance Club celebrates the blue moon

Deanna and Stu Frost

On December 17, the Rich Howard’s band played to a full house as the Sunday Night Dance Club members and guests danced the night away. The Christmas theme was beautiful. A great time was had by all.

Our next dance will be on Sunday, January 21, with music by Swing Memories. By chance, there will be two full moons in the month of January, so the dance theme will be Blue Moon, with ballroom decorations celebrating this phenomenon.

Our dances are held in the Cottonwood Country Club’s San Tan Ballroom. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.; the band plays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Non-member tickets are $20 per couple. A cash bar is available.

Attire for this dance is business/country club casual (ties optional) but absolutely no shorts, t-shirts or flip flops. Thank you.

Want to improve your dancing? Mary Lou Kaye, our club’s resident dance instructor, will offer her special “Social Dance Class” before our dance. This one-hour class is not geared toward a single dance, but helps any novice dancer to dance to a greater variety of dances. It will be taught at the Dance Studio room (a/k/a Mirror Room) at the Oakwood Complex which is located in the first building when you turn into the Oakwood Complex off E J Robson Blvd. The class charge is $5 and begins at 4:45 p.m.

Once again, we will host a fun social pre-dance dinner in the Cottonwood Bar and Grill before the January dance. Tables are reserved for our dance attendees in the restaurant beginning at 5:00 p.m. Come join friends and meet new ones before the dance. The dinner is optional and self-pay.

Please make your dance and pre-dance dinner reservations via email to [email protected] or call ahead using the information at our website,
