What a wonderful, fun and exciting time we had in the 2016-2017 dance season. Much thanks goes to our retiring president Bill and Janet Phillips and the other members of the dance board, Don and Bev Dorge, Stu and Deanna Frost and Carrol and Tim Tyrell for their hard work and dedication to make this past season a tremendous success!

I recently met some charter members of the Sunday Dance Club. Did you know our Sunday Dance Club is 28 years old? Absolutely amazing! I do believe it is the longest-running dance club in Sun Lakes, or anywhere in the valley for that matter. Our charter members have left us a great legacy. I hope to extend this legacy with vitality and new experiences. We will be focusing on making it fun and exciting this upcoming season!

We are going to start by planning our dance cruise for the summer of 2018. (Visit our website for details.) We will be opening our doors for our special Valentine’s Dance to non-members this season, so that all of Sun Lakes will have the opportunity to experience our greatest formal dancing/dining event of the year. In addition to our usual waltzes, foxtrots, rumbas and cha chas, our bands will be adding a variety of dance music to the delight of West Coast Swing and Latin enthusiasts. Our optional pre-dance dinner at the Cottonwood Grille was such a success, we will be making it a regular event prior to every dance. There will be more events yet to be announced, all to enhance the experience of Sunday night dancing.

I hope you will regularly visit our website at www.sunlakes-sundaydanceclub.com to see what’s new and exciting.
