June is National Smile Month and I encourage you to support more frequent smiling for stress reduction! The energy required to smile is two-thirds less than to frown. Plus stress-busting smiles often generate more positive connections with others. Try our easy and gentle Tai Chi-QiGong, and you too will smile inside and out, while reducing stress!
There are several variations of Tai Chi. My classes are easy and gentle movements focused on stretching and balance while relaxing the mind and body. These slow flow movements are good for everybody! You don’t have to get up and down from the floor. Our style of Tai Chi is easily modifiable and you can adjust the movements to your particular body type, limitations and needs. All that matters is your safety and comfort, regardless of age or ability.
As a Tai Chi Practitioner certified by the American Tai Chi-Qigong Association, I am also certified to teach PWR! Moves for Parkinson’s and Chair Chi. I love to share my passion of active aging for all with all participants. The benefits include, but are not limited to, enhancement of overall health, increased flexibility, improved balance and coordination, and reduced stress, while building bone strength.
Arizona Priority Care (AZPC) Senior Advantage Club sponsors my Wednesday class in Sun Lakes at Maricopa County Library Ed Robson Branch-Lecky Room, 9330 E. Riggs Rd. Every Wednesday, the class is mixed level from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sit or stand, wear rubber soled shoes with a back and bring water. Drop-in class fee is $2; no charge for AZPC members. As a year-round resident of Sun Lakes, I have been leading Tai Chi classes, workshops and semi-private or private series for over four years throughout the southeast valley including Casa Grande and Eloy.
