Tennis Is the Healthiest Sport in the World

Barb Jorgensen

Tennis provides a unique combination of cardiovascular, strength, and cognitive benefits, making it a strong contender for the title of the world’s healthiest sport, according to research and organizations like the USTA.

Increased Longevity: Tennis players can live significantly longer, with some studies showing nearly 10 years more than sedentary individuals, outperforming other sports.

Cardiovascular Health: It dramatically lowers the risk of cardiovascular death and improves heart health through interval-based movements.

Full-Body Workout: Tennis uses every major muscle group, improving strength, flexibility, and bone density.

Mental Fitness: The strategic, problem-solving nature of the game keeps the brain as active as the muscles, boosting cognitive function.

Accessibility: It’s a sport for all ages and abilities, promoting social interaction alongside physical activity.
