As soon as school is in session we will be scheduling the fall fishing events.

The Anglers sponsor about 13 fishing derbies a year. We had a very successful spring with six derbies. All but the grandparents derby in the spring are for children from surrounding grade schools where many of the children don’t have the advantages that many enjoy. The club furnishes all the equipment, bait and hands on help needed to catch fish. In addition we stock the lake and feed the fish to assure good fishing.

You do not have to be a member to help the kids fish. It is a very rewarding experience; their excitement and smiles are contagious. We will probably have some events in September. If you are interested in helping call Dan Hall at 480-802-1674 or Don Herring at 480-802-9320 for dates in September. The commitment is show up at 8:45 a.m. on Lake 6 in Sun Lakes Country Club and we wind down about 11:30 a.m.

To support our fishing derbies we sponsor the flea market at the Sun Lakes Country Club on the third Saturday of the month from 7:00-11:00 a.m. If you have donations call Don Herring at 480-802-9320 for pick up or drop off. For a booth at the flea market contact the Sun Lakes Country Club office at the Clubhouse. Only a $5 fee gets you a spot. See you there.

We meet on the first Tuesday of the month in the Mirror Room Sun Lakes Country Club at 7:00 p.m. New members are welcome and, like all clubs, needed. You will find putting a smile on a youngster’s face a rewarding experience. See you there on September 7.
