Where else can you join with friends interested in a common topic, learn something new, have free access to a modern computer lab, get an ID card for discounts at all types of businesses and on a variety of products, and not have to travel any further than the nearest grocery store or pharmacy? It’s the best $20 you could spend for access to all these benefits for the winter months.
It’s called New Adventures in Learning, a part of the Maricopa Chandler/Gilbert Community College system, and it is designed for senior residents of Sun Lakes and the surrounding communities. Your tax dollars are already supporting the system. Why not get some benefits?
Most classes meet only once or twice, and there are no papers to write, no tests, and no grades! It’s school the way you wish school had been.
The volunteer instructors are people from your community or experts from the area teaching about everything from self-driving cars, to estate planning, to the history of the blues. There is something for everyone.
You can check out all their info on their website under New Adventures in Learning or visit the state-of-the-art mini campus on the northeast corner of Riggs and Alma School Roads. For more information, you can call 480-857-5500 or email [email protected].
The facilities are bright, airy, and brand new, and the friendly staff can help with any questions. Some classes are even available online via Zoom.
What are you waiting for? Make this winter a special one, all for less than the price of a dinner out. You can’t beat it!
