The big event, our Fall Bazaar, has finally arrived! It’s an event we prepare for all year, set up happens over several busy days and then four days of power selling!

As always, we’ll have everything neatly organized and priced. And as usual, we’ll take up most of Sun Lakes Country Clubhouse and parking lots.

Furniture and lamps will be on the east parking lot

Holiday, baskets and luggage and artwork with be around the pool deck

Kitchen and dining will be in the Navajo Room

Artificial flowers created by the members and a large, delicious bake sale will be in the lobby

Vintage goods will be in the Billiards Room

This and That Boutique of needle craft and items made by the members will be in the large Card Room

Bed, bath and crafts items will be in the Mirror Room

Tools, electronics and small appliances will be in the Friendship Room

We will be open Thursday at noon, all day Friday and Saturday, and until 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Sunday starting at noon we will begin a 50 percent off sale on most items. In some areas things will be even less, with everything that can fit in a regular shopping bag for $1!

We do start unloading on Wednesday, but please understand we CANNOT sell that day. We do not have any money handling options set up Wednesday. And for safety reasons we need to just concentrate on getting things unpacked. Please, stay out of the workers’ way until we open for sales – Thursday at noon.

All these sales will make up about 80 percent of our donation budget for the next year. We also have a fundraising golf tournament in the spring, and a few sales happen all year, but the majority comes from these four days. And all year getting ready for it with all the donations we’ve collected, cleaned, tested, priced and packed away for this sale.

Our monthly meeting on November 8 will recap the sale. All women residents of Sun Lakes are welcome and encouraged to join our Association. We’re all about fun and friendship, always an eye on how to make Sun Lakes better. Our motto ‘Strong friendships build a strong community’ says it all! Join us at the SLCC Arts and Crafts Room on Mondays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. or see more about us at SLWomens.org.

See you at the big sale! Thanks for your donations, help and patronage that make it all possible!
