The Friends of the Robson Library are pleased to announce the donation of $6,000 to the Maricopa County Library District. The Friends have requested that this donation be used for children’s programs at Robson, Gila Bend, and Guadalupe Libraries in the Maricopa County Library system.

In acknowledging the donation, Mr. Reeder commented, “The Friends of the Ed Robson Library have been constant champions for the Library District. This generous donation will be used to fund initiatives at the Gila Bend Library and will directly impact this community’s access to high-quality library services.” Linda added, “The Friends group of Robson library have a strong commitment to childhood literacy. Along with the support through the libraries, Robson Friends have also handed out nearly 2000 books directly into the hands of children in Gila Bend and Guadalupe. We continue our mission with this donation to the Library District.”

One of the goals of the Friends is to promote literacy among all ages. To further this goal, they have supported libraries without an active Friends group, such as Gila Bend and Guadalupe. In addition, the Friends have given generously over the years to many projects at the Robson Library, including presentations and other worthwhile funding needs.

These contributions have been made possible through the sale of donated books in the Friends’ bookstore in the Robson Library. Donations are always appreciated, especially fiction paperbacks; non-fiction categories including history, biography, cooking, religion, self-help and health; as well as CDs; audio books; DVDs; current magazines; and jigsaw puzzles. Due to space constraints, the bookstore is unable to accept donations of textbooks or back issues of magazines.

The Friends group meets each month on the second Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the conference room in the Robson Library. All are welcome.
