Recruiting them young…
Four-and-a-half-year old Esteban Wodraska of Murrieta, California, was visiting with his Sun Lakes grandmother when he saw CR231, the vehicle operated by the Community Assistance Program for the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority/Sun Lakes, at a call. He came over and started asking questions about what the crisis response unit did and did the crew like what they were doing. So, the crew let Esteban try on some of their gear and see the inside of their rig. He had told the crew that he wanted to be a police officer when he grew up, but now he says he wants to be a firefighter. Photo and caption by Brian Curry.
