Jennifer Jenkins loves the Perfect Place. She loves the games, especially Yahtzee, and she thinks the staff is wonderful. She has a great laugh, and we all laugh with her. Jennifer is a very special girl; blind since birth, she leads the daily devotional reading from a Braille Bible. Educated in a preschool program at the Foundation for Blind Children and public schools, she graduated from Coronado High School. What an active young woman! She has been an actress, a dancer and a singer most of her life. And she was water skiing at six!
She now lives with her sister and her family. When asked what she would like to do with her life, she answers, “do what my dad does.” He is on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Blind Children in Phoenix. She is very proud of her father. We at Perfect Place think that she might just get there.
The Perfect Place is located on the campus of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Sun Lakes. We are a nonprofit faith-based adult care center. Our volunteers are knowledgeable of Alzheimer’s, dementia, developmental disabilities and various adult neurological challenges. Most of us have had a loved one for whom we were a caregiver. We enjoy what we do.
