As we move on to a new year and a fresh start, the Desert Navy is looking forward to a new year filled with excitement, adventure, and a wealth of information from those who join us at our meetings. We will be continuing to hold our normal scheduling, which runs from September through April. Meetings are held on the third Friday of the month and start at 11 a.m. in the Lakeview Room located in the SunBird Community Center. The next scheduled meeting is slated for Jan. 20. Just a reminder to all members that dues for club members are $15 and are due at the January meeting.

At our meetings, whenever possible, we will have a guest speaker invited to participate as a part of the meeting. Our current plans are to have a speaker at our January meeting but, at this time, the plans have not been finalized. Typically, our guest speakers provide us with not only a wealth of information, but advice and aids on how we can check into some available benefits that we may not be aware of.

As always, one of our club’s primary goals is to provide support to those veterans who are in need. Our club has a variety of medical supplies and equipment that can be obtained in a short amount of time for those needing support, whether it be from an unexpected emergency or, in some cases, an item that may help improve a person’s quality of life for a longer term.
