Sun Lakes Community Church offered the evening as Sweet Memories and The Swing Generation delivered! A crowd of 240 persons enjoyed a great meal and wonderful music of the “golden oldies” including everything from jazz to Gospel music.

The Swing Generation is comprised of five guys who collectively have been involved in music for over 200 years. They include a manufacturing representative, teachers, a barber, and occupational therapist who simply love to get together and jam! The musicians; Buddy Apfel, Dale Garcia, John Pellegrino, Bill Caddell and Arnold Karraker who serves as comedian spokesperson, live throughout the valley and two of the members live in Sun Lakes.

Pastor Jerry McGhee said: “This was a special, fun evening that attracted a record attendance for one of our events and included a number of people new to our church. The evening reflects our desire to reach out to the community with special events that encourage and entertain. Each Sunday we worship at the Sun Lakes Chapel at 9:30 a.m. The chapel is located at 9240 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. N. across from the Sun Lakes Country Club.

The food served by the staff at Sun Lakes Country Club’s Sunset Grill was superb. The event was organized by Cottonwood resident Kathleen Brown, our social chairperson, and a host of volunteers who assisted her.
