Teresa Hermsen with her dog Oakley
Part 3 of this “Men Behind the Scenes” has been tweaked to spotlight one of the superwomen behind the scenes. Cottonwood Tennis Club is so successful because of the members who are so generous with their time and talent.
This month’s spotlight is Teresa Hermsen. Teresa provides leadership to our food court activities year round. She not only keeps our storage room well stocked but is also the best value shopper in Arizona! When given a budget for an event, you can bet your bottom dollar she will come under that budget while being quite the stickler on expiration dates. Speaking of events, she is the first to say, “I’ll do it,” when hosting a party on the patio. With Teresa in charge, rest assured there is no waste. I’m sure many of us would hire her to come organize and keep our kitchen well stocked and clean. She is one of the top of the top of the club’s volunteer pool. She’s always willing to help.
Teresa did not start as a tennis player but as a pickleball player. She was urged by her cousin Julia Romanin to try tennis. It took a bit, but she’s now hooked, and it’s obvious she enjoys the Tennis Club’s frequent social gatherings.
On a personal note, Teresa enjoys travelling and hiking with her dog Oakley, cheering her favorite sports teams, spending time with her extended family, and, yes, okay, she even still plays some pickleball, too!
