Third Annual RAD Golf Scramble

Don Vock

The Third Annual RAD (Recreation and Athletics for Individuals with Disabilities) Golf Scramble will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday, April 13, at Oakwood Golf Club, in Sun Lakes. The tournament is open to the public and will feature a preferred ball scramble format for the full field of 144 golfers. Players will compete for over $3,000 in prizes and prize money. The fee to play in the tournament is $150 per golfer or $600 per foursome. Fee includes golf, cart, and lunch. The tournament has three divisions and is open to all levels of golfers.

The money raised by the event will support Chandler RAD, which is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. RAD raises funds to pay the costs for registration fees, equipment, and transportation associated with the City of Chandler’s therapeutic recreation programs. This includes flag football, bowling, softball, golf, track, tennis, other therapeutic sports, and social events such as dances, pool parties, and special movie nights at local theaters. We serve over 500 athletes with disabilities in Chandler and the surrounding areas.
