You will want to attend Women’s Connection’s brunch on Thursday, October 13 in the Kingston Ballroom of the Oakwood Country Club. Come to meet new friends, welcome back those who have been away for the summer, and be inspired at the same time. If you are looking to connect with other women, you are looking for us.

“Inspirational” – the word most often used to describe Sara Beekman. She is a vibrant woman who loves meeting new people and sharing how they can find hope and encouragement when everything around them may seem hopeless. Sara shares about a new season of her life which is now without her precious sweetheart of 35 years. She never tires of telling their beautiful love story which is sprinkled liberally with humor and personal examples. You will be delighted by her talk titled “Finding Strength in Life’s Storms.” Originally from Kansas, Sara has lived in Phoenix for 32 years. She enjoys having fun, laughing and most of all she enjoys spending time with her children and is crazy-in-love with her two adorable grandchildren!

This is a great time of year to become involved in something new. After all, “We retire but our brains shouldn’t.” That’s a quote from Tony Contrabasso, the Chairman of the New Adventures in Learning Speakers Bureau. Tony will give a special presentation on New Adventures in Learning and all it has to offer which includes a diverse list of classes from history to medical information, finance, science and many other subjects.

Terry Kerr from Gilbert will be our soloist. This talented woman has a strong passion for music, especially singing. Terry is a member of the East Valley Chorale with whom she often solos. Special pre-brunch music at the piano will be performed by Carolyn Rooder, Judy Manley, Darlene Honn and Jeanette Cline.

Reservations are necessary and must be made by noon on Thursday, October 6 by emailing Shirley Mukhar at [email protected], calling Lydia Claflin at 480-802-2188 or Candy Clark at 480-802-2579.
