Celebrating the Decades

On March 22, unit 46 in Oakwood held a pot luck dinner to celebrate the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s. The event was held in the Poolside building and about 55 neighbors participated.

We enjoyed great food, friendly company, and good old fashioned fun!

One of the best parts of living in Sun Lakes is the wonderful people we meet. How lovely it was to get together and reconnect with old friends and meet new ones.

The night of food and festivities was organized by a committee of volunteers: Julie Aken, Sue Arnoux, Jolyn Elliott, Shanyn Engler, Leslie Friesen, Diane Gilman, Donna Kick, Karen Kwartler, Carol Maas, Mari Noyes, Sandi Sterker, Gerry Weaver, and Kayley Zupancic. Thanks also to all the thoughtful neighbors who contributed in many ways to make the night a success.

We held a “cake walk” game that included a cake prize for the winners. Cakes were donated by local businesses and some members of our social committee.

Prizes were also given to best costumes, as well a raffle basket of goodies and door prizes.

Unit 19 Townhomes Owners

Unit 19’s board will hold the regularly scheduled May monthly meetings for Townhome Owners at 4 p.m. in the Steve Nolan Conference Room. The Planning Meeting will be on May 21, and the monthly meeting on May 28. All homeowners are encouraged to attend. The monthly meeting is the only meeting at which the board makes community decisions and homeowner’s input is asked for prior to a vote by the board.

Summer meetings are suspended for the months of June, July, and August. Please watch for the new bimonthly issue of “Unit 19 News You Can Use” which will be emailed beginning Sept. 4 and the first Friday of every other month thereafter.
