If you are Scandinavian or interested in Scandinavia, come and join us on Sunday, Feb. 16. We will be meeting in the Saguaro Room of Cottonwood Country Club.
An interesting program by Bob Nelson of Sun Lakes will provide you with interesting facts about the settlement of Midwest America, largely Iowa. The Reverend Halland of Sweden started churches, and the settlements became Swedish, as was he.
The meeting begins at 5 p.m. with a smorgasbord of herring, sausage, and crackers and cheese where friendly folks visit and share experiences. A cash bar is available. We eat dinner at 5:30 p.m., and the program begins at 6:15 p.m.
The entrée includes delicious chicken marsala with creamy mashed potatoes, salad, and rolls with butter. A dessert is also furnished.
Make your reservations before Feb. 8. Send a check to Ron Duress at 417 West Champagne, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. Make checks payable to Scandinavian Club for $25 per person.
Plan on having an enjoyable evening and an opportunity to learn about Scandinavian connections. Hope to see you there!
