Hear Ye, Hear Ye, all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and neighbors of children who would enjoy the FREE Freedom and Christmas Event held Saturday, December 8, at the Sun Lakes Country Club in the Navajo Room between 10:00 a.m. and noon. Patriotic activities are sponsored by the VFW Auxiliary. The FREE tickets are available at the Administrative Services Desk. Registration is required.
There are arts and craft stations, cookie decorating (aprons provided), and coloring Station (pictures brought and distributed to the troops by “Blue Star Moms”) Snacks and Goodies are provided PLUS Santa!
December 7 is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. This is the 77th anniversary.
On December 2, auxiliary members will volunteer at the Family Day Event for the Army National Guard Unit 996. The Sunday event will be held at the El Dorado Park in Scottsdale for soldiers and their families. Auxiliary volunteers will provide some of the food and have an opportunity to meet some of the 50% of the unit being deployed to Afghanistan in March, 2019. Our volunteers will offer emotional support to the families of those deployed.
