A charity walk/fundraiser to honor Dr. Randy Walker, DVM, and to raise money for two local animal rescue groups is planned for Sunday, October 15, in Sun Lakes, Arizona. The one-, two- or three-mile walk will start at 7:00 a.m. and finish at 10:00 a.m. at the Sun Lakes Chandler Animal Clinic located at 9670 E. Riggs Road, #109, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. Leashed dogs are welcome to attend.
Dr. Walker’s sudden passing last year in October affected many in Sun Lakes and surrounding communities. Dr. Walker served the Sun Lakes community for over 20 years at the Sun Lakes Animal Clinic (now the Sun Lakes Chandler Animal Clinic, owned by Dr. Ashley Greenway, DVM).
Dr. Walker was a kind and generous man who loved his furry clients and their owners. He believed in giving back, and this walk to honor him is an opportunity to donate to two local animal rescue groups in the Sun Lakes area. Rover’s Rest Stop (roversreststop.com) began as a small dog rescue in the Chandler area more than 10 years ago. Muchos Gatos (muchosgatos.org) is a no-kill cat sanctuary that provides a safe and clean environment for abandoned, rejected and unwanted cats.
All donations will be used to preserve Dr. Walker’s memory and honor his legacy towards the wellbeing of animals in the community. “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened,” Anatole France.
Please visit the walk website, wags-and-whiskers.org, to sign up for the walk and to make a donation. See you on October 15!
