“Courage is a lot like getting in shape, I think. Is it painful to face our fears? It is. Would it be easier to stay home and keep our heads down? It would. But if we summon even an ounce of courage, that momentum can carry us forward.” -Carly Fiorina
Your invite to Walk with a Doc just arrived. We will share a few walking tips, listen to a three- to five-minute talk by our doctor from Dignity Health Care, and do a simple warm up. Then we are off to explore the 11+ miles of the PV Community. Our walks last about an hour and range from one to three miles. The distance is your decision.
The Walk with a Doc will be on Sat., November 9. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. at the PV tennis pavilion (online registration is available and encouraged). You can complete a waiver in advance. The Doc Walk is at 9 a.m., followed by breakfast (Dutch treat) on the PV patio at 10 a.m.
Consider this: “80% of cardiac disease is preventable if we just go for a walk.”
Some old-fashioned things like fresh air, sunshine, and friendship are hard to beat. Don’t leave a good thing behind. Join your new friends at Walk with a Doc on Nov. 9.
