A hip, fun, and cutting-edge party atmosphere was offered at the Cottonwood Fairchild Blues Brothers Concert and Comedy on Oct. 18, 2022. Many Sun Lakers were dressed as Elwood and Jake or in period-appropriate attire from the revivalist band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. Renditions of the songs “Rawhide,” “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love,” and “Sweet Home Chicago” kept the crowd clapping. Elwood said, “It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark … and we’re wearing sunglasses.” Sun Lakers had the sunglasses down.
