What do you mean you can’t act?

Sandra Bocynesky

No problem because we still need you! Sun Lakes Community Theatre (SLCT) has so many opportunities for the membership that acting is just one small part. You see, it takes a village to put on a production. We need all kinds of hands to work on our shows.

We are always seeking members to help us distribute show flyers, design programs, paint, build sets, put up audience seating, sew, sell tickets, work on props, back stage and front of the house managers, ushers, sound, lights, set load-in and strike and much more. You don’t need to act to be a member of Sun Lakes Community Theatre. But, if you do act, we have opportunities three times a year to try out for roles in our performances and if you’ve directed, we have opportunities for you as well.

So don’t let a little thing like “I can’t act” stop you from joining our theatre. Join for the friendship, fun and be a part of something wonderful! We meet monthly from October to April. We hold a holiday party in December, an end of the year party in April and have a summer get together.

Sun Lakes Community Theatre is a 501(c)(3) organization and we not only provide outstanding entertainment to the area residents, we donate funds to the drama departments in the Chandler High Schools, award a SLCT scholarship to a Chandler High School senior whose focus is in the theater, and entertain thousands of elementary school students in the Chandler vicinity every year. Yes, we are a very viable part of this community.
