After a holiday hiatus, our men’s winter league begins on January 6. Each of our six teams plays a 20-game schedule. The fall league ended after the press deadline, but you can find the standings and stats on the Stats Page of our website at www.sunlakessoftball.com. In addition, our Lady Sluggers begin their home season on January 7 at 1:00 p.m. when they host Viewpoint at the Field of Dreams.

Jessica Sorensen of Spooner Physical Therapy, assisted by Tiffany Ruiz and Alexandria Marlar, recently conducted dynamic stretching and exercise classes for our players at the Field of Dreams. Hopefully, we’ll have fewer pulled muscles in the future. Spooner is one of our advertising sponsors. Their Sun Lakes clinic is located at 10325 E. Riggs Road, Suite 102. Thank you, ladies!

The World Champion Team Ambush is scheduled to play in the Doc Metcalf Memorial Tournament, held at the Papago Park fields on January 10 and 11. (See the separate article regarding Team Ambush elsewhere in this edition of the Splash). The tournament honors the memory and legacy of long-time Sun Lakes player Gene “Doc” Metcalf who served on the Board of Directors of Senior Softball-USA for many years.

We are pleased to welcome our newest advertising sponsor, Johnny’s Roofing Company.
