Action Begins for Lucky Shot Pool Club

Gary Vacin

The Lucky Shot Pool Club launched its 2020-21 tournament season Nov. 1, with 20 players competing in one pocket of 9-Ball and four pockets of 8-Ball. Seven players are competing in both 9-Ball and 8-Ball pockets. The round-robin tourney runs through Dec. 10.

With the pandemic still in force, the club is observing two HOA rules: Players must wear masks and must maintain six feet of social distancing at all times.

The club has also added some additional safety features to ensure cleanliness/sanitation in the pool room. Containers of disinfectant wipes are located in the cabinet in the southeast corner of the pool room. Players are urged to use the wipes to clean the balls and table rails, the triangles for 9-Ball and 8-Ball, bridges, and rack cues prior to each game. Players are urged to bring their personal cues to the tournament games.

Containers of hand sanitizer are located in the cabinet and on the table along the north wall of the room.

The club sponsors two additional tournaments: Jan. 1 to Feb. 10, and March 1 to April 10, 2021. The events are open to all Sun Lakes residents. For additional information, contact Steve Colby, tournament director, at 480-600-5392.
