Grand Canyon by Bob Little

Grand Canyon by Bob Little

Our summer session will be coming to an end this September. We spent many hours learning about photography techniques and editing tips. We put them to use with trips around and about the Phoenix area as well as to the Grand Canyon. Whether inside or outside, our photographic skills were captured and developed during the Arizona summer! Now, it will soon be time to put them on display when our new year begins in October.

Featured Image: This classic-looking image captures the Grand Canyon at the “Desert View” point. On our summer trip to the canyon during our Arizona monsoon season, the Sun Lakes Camera Club members and friends take advantage of the beauty of sunrise, sunset, and any weather that only enhances one of the wonders of the world. Bob Little highlights some of our club members while he captures the grandeur of the Grand Canyon during a lull in the weather. Beautiful, Bob!

Member/Club News: This month’s meeting is Thursday, September 5, 2019. We will show a glimpse into our competition night and how our images are judged in a short amount of time. Come critique images for yourself to learn what it takes for a perfect score! Reminder that our flags will be on display and to reach out to Raul Lopez for times and dates of setup and take-down. Be alert to emails or go to sunlakescameraclub.com for more details on time and information on the topic. Looking forward to seeing you all there. Next meeting will be held Thursday, October 3, 2019. This is our kick-off meeting for the 2019-2020 club season. Our competition meeting will be Thursday, October 17, 2019. Rotating subject: Photo Travel; Special Techniques: Close Up or Macro.

Class: The acclaimed “Digital Photography Fundamentals” course will once again be offered in Sun Lakes this fall. Choose from two courses: “Introduction to Digital Photography” for those who are new to Photography, and “Mastering your Technique” for experienced photographers wishing to take their art to the next level. Or sign up for both! In addition to extensive classroom coverage, courses include field and lighting workshops along with class notes for each session. The course is open to all Sun Lakes residents. Look for additional information in the Splash over the coming months, or contact Dan Dragoon at [email protected].
