Cheers Singles Club met at the Cottonwood Country Club for the quarterly birthday party. Members who celebrated birthdays in February, March and April were honored. The staff at Cottonwood decorated the Saguaro Room with a Cinco de Mayo theme, nicely done! Dinner was served and the usual birthday cake and ice cream served; of course, the birthday people were the first in line for both dinner and cake – only fitting don’t you think? President Ginny Marr asked the group how they felt about the location at Cottonwood and everyone agreed it was a nice change. Marjean Scheele arranges the birthday events along with volunteers who serve, register and arrange these events. Thanks to all for your help as this is one of our bigger events with usually 70-80 members attending. Many hands make light work – thank you!

Cheers Singles meets every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Poolside Café at Oakwood Country Club. During the remodeling of the Clubhouse this location may change soon so be sure to check your newsletters or call Ginny Marr at 883-0600 or Richard Lewin at 525-3630 for membership information if you can’t meet us at the social. Check our bulletin board where we meet for information on coming trips, signup for events and photos of past events.

Members will be traveling this summer to cooler locations along with the snowbirds but Cheers will still be here for you all summer long! Have fun and stay safe!
