The Cotillion Dance Club is presenting the eighth annual Black and White Ball in the Oakwood Ballroom on January 14. This will be a formal dinner dance. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Come early and enjoy the company and atmosphere. Members and guests are welcome. Guest seating will be limited so be sure to register early. Member invitations have been mailed. Online registration is available on our website.

As shown in the photo the Sonoran Serenade Big Band will provide the evening’s dance music and entertainment. This traditional 19-piece band will play many swing band and contemporary favorites, and has great vocalists! This will be the third season we have had the good fortune to book this band. All their previous performances have been spectacular. The band has designed arrangements specifically for the Cotillion Dance Club dance requirements. Come listen and dance to your swing era favorites and modern arrangements.

The new Oakwood banquet chef has promised to make the meal one to remember. The VIP champagne reception hors d’oeuvres features Tomato and Basil Pesto Bruschetta, Fried Artichokes with Lemon Aioli, and Pork and Vegetable Pot Stickers with a Soy Glaze all served with a delicious Champagne. Wonderful mood setting instrumental music performed by select members of the Sonoran Serenade Big Band will provide the background music for the reception.

The reception is followed by a scrumptious three course dinner served by the banquet staff. Cotillion Dance Club volunteers have planned a theme infused table settings and Ballroom decorations to make the evening a memorable fine dining experience. The first course provides a choice of a fresh garden salad or a traditional Caesar salad. The entrees selections are a Grilled Chicken with Sweet Mango Relish; a Balsamic Roasted Portobello; Grilled Salmon with a Sun-Dried Tomato Beurre Blanc; or Tender Thin Sliced Herb Rubbed Casino Roast of Prime Beef served with Au Jus, Horseradish, and Potatoes Dauphinoise. For dessert there is a choice of a seasonal fresh fruit plate or the chef’s Chocolate Tuxedo Cake – yummy!

The group dance lesson for the upcoming dinner dance is scheduled for Friday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakwood Ballroom. Fred Astaire will be providing instructors for the Foxtrot. Members and guests are welcome.
