Cottonwood Lady Niners hold event of the year!

A Sea of Hats! The Cottonwood Niner’s did it again! The Member/Guest Tournament on March 8 was a huge success. My Fairway Lady was the theme, and almost all of the 140 golfers made an effort to wear an appropriate hat, and some had matching outfits as well. The standouts (and they couldn’t sit/fit in their golf cart) were member Leeanna Michelson and her sister Dottie Slade who traveled from Tennessee carrying her hat with her!

We had Professors of Parking in Top Hats to get us organized out front, and then daintily strolled into the San Tan Ballroom to parade ourselves around while we bid on 16 member-donated baskets. Competition was tough for eight categories of hat designs. Pro shop chits were awarded through seventh place on front and back nine and were posted and given by Desmond. This year, the Niner’s decided the tournament would be strictly for fun and not a charity event, so lots of cash door prizes were given out.

The Cottonwood Lady Niner’s play every Thursday afternoon through the end of May and then start up again November 1. Come join the fun.
