President’s message

Kathy Skrei

The holidays were exciting for our residents in Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes. The festivities kicked off at Palo Verde with the annual Holiday Golf Cart Parade and Show at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5. Free hot turkey soup was served and Mr. and Mrs. Claus were on hand for a very fun-filled evening. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Posse escorted the golf cart parade to the San Tan Ballroom where the Christmas show began at 7:00 p.m.

The Cottonwood library remodel is underway. The Facility and Grounds Committee has started compiling a notebook for all projects that are currently underway and for any future projects. The notebook will be kept at Homeowner Services for our homeowners to review. Each project will continually be updated as the projects move along. Pictures and project descriptions will go into each project file.

Many of our homeowners rang in the New Year at one of our fine restaurants. A New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance was held at the San Tan Ballroom. A more casual New Year’s Eve was spent in the Cottonwood Bar and Grill with music by Riff Raff. A New Year’s buffet was served at Palo Verde.

Effective January 1, 2015, members of the Sun Lakes Pickleball, Racquetball and Tennis Clubs and any other players who participate in exclusive use of the pickleball, racquetball and Cottonwood tennis courts will be required to pay an annual racquet fee of $25. The $25 racquet fee will cover exclusive usage of all racquet facilities for one year. Upon payment of the annual racquet fee, members and other players will receive a sticker that is affixed to their Homeowner card or other form of identification. Patrol will regularly monitor court users to ensure only those that have a current racquet fee sticker are using the courts during exclusive play times. Payment can be made at Homeowner Services for Cottonwood Palo Verde members. Sun Lakes Country Club and IronOaks members will be able to pay at the Recreation Department.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to wish you all a healthy, happy and prosperous 2015. Thank you once again for allowing us to serve you in this wonderful community in which we live.
