Crystal Card Project enjoys strong start in 2018 but needs your help

Bobbie Reed

Selling handmade greeting cards and donating the money raised to charity is the goal of The Crystal Card Project. The cards are fashioned using parts of donated, used greeting cards to make beautiful new cards that sell for $1 each.

So far in 2018, we have sold over 3,000 cards. This is good news because it means we have raised over $3,000 for our charity – My Sister’s Place, a Chandler shelter for victims of domestic violence. But it also means our inventory of cards is getting low. We need to get busy and make more cards. At our last session we made over 300 new cards, but we are a long way from restocking the 3,000 that have been sold.

We need your help.

Donate Cards – Please consider donating greeting cards (we need the whole card so we can use both the front and the message). There are bins in all the Sun Lakes clubhouses, or you can bring your donations to any of our sales or work sessions.

Make Cards – Join us at one of our work sessions held in the Cottonwood Ceramics Room (A-8) from 12:30-3:00 p.m. Our next sessions are scheduled for Wednesdays, April 18 and 25. If you can’t join us at a work session, there are many things that can be done at home to support the project – just ask.

All our sales events and work sessions are listed on our website (www.thecrystalcardproject.org) and our Facebook page, or you can email us at [email protected] or call Charlene Petragallo at 480-883-0782.
