On Saturday, July 26, four Target Stores and Kohl’s bustled with excitement; 450 boys and girls from the East Valley Boys and Girls Club branches were transported to four Target Stores; Gilbert, Chandler, Power Rd. and Tempe Market Place and to Kohl’s! Intel volunteers helped at that store! The kids were met there with volunteers to help them navigate the store, select school items and stay within their budget of $125 each. Volunteers look forward each year to repeating this fun task. All go home with a happy feeling. How could you not have a happy feeling looking at the big eyes and big smiles from the youngsters?

With donations from Sun Lakes Charities, Intel, Sun Lakes Rotary, Sun Lakes Lions Club, Sun Lakes Breakfast Lions Club, Dignity Hospital and private donations from Sun Lakes residents, Target and Kohl’s sponsored the shopping spree. Sun Lakes Charities thanks them all. A huge thank you to the Tempe Diablos for their continued help each year!

The youngsters received backpacks filled with school supplies at the end of their shopping and then to the Paradise Cookie Table! Thank you again Paradise Cookies, for being there. Juice and coffee were served.

Another great shopping year! Another group of nicely dressed school kids! What could be better?
