For all Sun Lakers who are in town this month, why not come out and join us for the Fun Lakers Club Game Night on Saturday, August 18. It is open to members, as well as non-members. We will meet in the Ceramics Room at Cottonwood at 6:00 p.m. There will be a variety of table games to choose from, including Bunco; Left, Right, Center (LRC); Password and more. Time will be allotted for various games to allow for movement to new tables. In this way, you’ll be able to play more games and meet more people. Snacks and water will be provided. If you are a member, you have already received the event/registration flyer. Non-members may check out the Fun Lakers website and download the form at www.funlakers.org. The deadline to register is Monday, August 11.
The Sun Lakes Dance Party group has merged with the Fun Lakers Club. With this merger, our club become the largest social group in the Sun Lakes community. The cost for joining Fun Lakers remains $12.00 per year per member. The cost for the 2018-2019 six dance parties is $50.00 per person. Tickets may also be purchased for each event separately. The cost at the door is $12.00 per person for a single dance.
Dates for the dance parties will be October 18, November 15, January 17, February 21, March 21 and April 11. The dances will be held at the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom, with entertainment provided by Thaddeus Rose. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. A dance lesson begins at 6:30 p.m., and open dancing will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
As the fall season begins, we are planning a variety of new and fun activities. As information for each event becomes available, all members receive the event flyer and registration form by email. The information will also be posted on our website at www.funlakers.org. Upcoming events include Chili for Charity, a magic show and a Cart/Car Road Rally. Our annual Holiday Dinner/Dance will be held on Saturday, December 15. It is one of the club’s premiere events of the year, with a featured band and a special holiday menu. Be sure to mark your calendar and save the date.
The Fun Lakers Club is all about creating and fostering new and lasting friendships and, of course, having fun! If you haven’t joined or are not sure if it’s the right match for you and you are staying in Sun Lakes over the summer, this may be the perfect time of year to give us a try.
