Dave and Barb, Roger Walck and Don Wharton will appear in concert at Risen Savior Lutheran Church at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19. The church is located at 23914 S. Alma School Road, Chandler. The concert will be their first appearance together for many years.

Gospel concert musicians Dave and Barb Anderson, Roger Walck and Don Wharton have presented 10,000 concerts in America and around the world. Dave, Barb and Don have also recorded over 40 albums of gospel music.

Dave and Barb Anderson are Phoenix residents and have presented concerts throughout America and around the world for 36 years. The Andersons have been on the forefront of worship renewal in America and abroad. Dave is the publisher of one million Christian songbooks. Five years ago, Dave was joined by guitarist/singer Roger Walck.

Dave and Roger’s concert ministry helps to support the Shepherd’s Canyon Retreat ministry, an organization which provides counseling retreats for burned-out pastors and their spouses. The counseling retreats take place at the Standing Stones Retreat Center located near Wickenburg, Arizona.

Don Wharton, from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, is a singer, guitarist, pianist, author and humorist. Don is the only gospel singer to present a concert at the Pentagon. Several of his songs have been recorded by well-known Southern Gospel musicians. Don has opened for Christian musicians including Carmen, Michael Card and Jessie Dixon.

On August 13, 1993, while returning to Alaska from an evangelistic and humanitarian mission in the Russian Far East, Dave, Barb, Don and four others survived a plane crash in the Bering Sea. They are the only survivors of a plane crash in the Bering Sea or the Arctic Ocean. Their helicopter rescue has been described as the most dramatic air/sea rescue in aviation history. This dramatic story has been heard on Focus on the Family and on dozens of appearances on radio and television programs in America and Australia. Dave and Don’s books and DVDs about this story will be available at the concert.

In addition to a great deal of music, the concert will feature Dave, Barb and Don sharing highlights from this dramatic story.

The concert at Risen Savior is open to the public. A free-will offering will be received in support of the Shepherd’s Canyon Retreat ministry. If you have any questions, please call Risen Savior Church  at 480-895-6782.
