At Renaissance, our goal is to provide incredible service and care—and that means adapting new programs and services whenever possible to help our residents. Due to recent changes and restrictions due to COVID-19, we wanted to ensure residents have access to everything they need to stay safe while remaining in the community. To facilitate this, we have implemented a “Groceries to Go” program that has been a hit among residents.
Through this program, we want to serve all residents as quickly and efficiently as possible. Residents who would like to participate in the program simply contact the Life Enrichment Department to place an order. Residents place their order by Sunday and receive the items on their doorstep the next day.
Orders are fulfilled by a large, local grocery store to accommodate the variety of items ordered. This means residents can also purchase miscellaneous items such as greeting cards, dog food, and more. Nearly two dozen residents have participated in the program and approximately 100 orders fulfilled.
One of our residents thrilled about the new program is longtime resident Penny Quinn. Penny expressed her excitement and appreciation for the program saying, “It is very convenient. Renaissance handled all of this. All I have to do is meet the staff member downstairs, and they take care of everything. The next day, everything is ready for me!”
Penny says that staff has been wonderful about helping her. When she is placing an order, she meets with a staff member where they take her through the items, with pictures, so it is easier to be sure she is ordering the right items. According to Penny, “You just tell them what you want, and the rest is up to them. It couldn’t be any easier.” She also appreciated the other measures and planned activities from Renaissance during this time of increased precautions. She has felt comfort in knowing that every day, big or small, there is always something to look forward to.
