Happenings at the SLCC library

Sharon Lavender

Summer may finally be over, but things were very busy at our library. The librarians were there Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to check out books and re-shelve books that were returned by our many readers. The Sun Lakes Breakfast Lion’s foundation and the Sun Lakes Lion’s Foundation both gave very generous donations, mainly to be used to purchase large-print books. We were also fortunate to receive many book donations. Thank you, one and all.

Many new books have been acquired over the summer. Check with us first when you are looking for a recently-released book you have been wanting to read. This is a partial list of the newer books we have added to our library: Y Is for Yesterday, by Susan Grafton; Seeing Red, by Sandra Brown; The Child, by Fiona Barton; The Good Daughter, by Karin Slaughter; The Lying Game, by Ruth Ware; The Force, by Don Winslow; The Late Show, by Michael Connelly; Against All Odds, by Danielle Steel; Dangerous Games, by Janet Evanovich; No Middle Name, by Lee Child; House of Spies, by Daniel Silva; Proof of Life, by J. A Jance; Haunted, by James Patterson; The Cuban Affair, by Nelson De Mille; and The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye, David Langercrantz.

Fall is here, and outdoor activities keep us busier now. Still, many of us need to be reading a good book to make our lives complete. Let us help you add to your enjoyment. Sun Lakes is a wonderful place to live, and our library ranks very high in what makes our community special. Stop by soon. Residents from all areas of Sun Lakes, including SunBird, are welcome to take advantage of our library.
