What kind of club is this, anyway?

San Diego Cityscape at Dusk by SLCC President John Livoti during our club’s 2014 spring field trip.

Joining the Sun Lakes Camera Club you’ll find a great group of people who enjoy photography, travel and having fun. Our club offers members a social environment to practice their photography skills and be active around Arizona. New to town or a snowbird, our club welcomes all who love taking pictures. Now is the time to check us out. Come join our enthusiastic club of photographers!

Meeting twice a month, our camera club soirees are filled with interactive presentations on all topics about photography. After integrating our learned techniques to our picture-taking, we engage our members in a fun-filled night of a judged competition. Gathering to enjoy the images or revel in the memories of a trip, the reward for work well done is recognized. The SLCC works closely with other community organizations also, like the Maricopa County Library District and the Lions Club.

Our club enjoys local and out of state events during the club year, October through April. This past spring, several members gathered to partake in celebrating San Diego’s oceanside living; returning to share their captured moments of fun and mischief, I’m sure! Our fall field trip this year is heading to White Sands, New Mexico with adventurous stops along the way. Day hikes around Arizona offer a great way to explore and photograph closer to home, just ask Neil.

Drop by anytime at one of our meetings to find out more. Even better, meet John or Dan at our booth at a clubhouse Open House in your community. Our club members will be available to chat about cameras, membership and our fabulous photography trips. Sign-up for our instructional course is open and a great way to learn and update your skill-set.

Photography 101 will commence this fall on November 3. The course, open to all Sun Lakes residents, is a 10-class course that will run Mondays from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Reserve your spot today by contacting Dan Dragoon at [email protected] or going to our website at https://sites.google.com/site/sunlakescameraclub/. Classroom space is limited and fills up fast.
