Lady Niners gear up for first day of play

Lorri Morgan, Publicity

The Cottonwood Lady Niners are gearing up for a brand-new season of fun and games, golf, of course, but other stuff too! November 7 will be our first day of play, and we will be welcoming back all current members and especially new ladies. Membership applications will have been mailed out to all old (did I say that!) members, and the Pro Shop has applications for newbies. The Pro Shop has once again made available a special price for Thursday afternoons of $350 for all lady golfers in the Niners. Our season runs through the end of May, so that is a great deal for seven months of 9-hole fun. Club dues for existing members are $35 or $40 for new members. The cost for your AGA handicap is an additional $35, but new this year, you only need one GHIN number, even if you belong to other clubs. Existing members who aren’t golfing this year but want to remain social members may do so for $35. The Niners play every Thursday at 1 p.m. and generally have a short meet and greet at 12:30 p.m. on the Pro Shop deck. Our Welcome Back luncheon and business meeting will be Nov. 14, and we encourage everyone to attend. Please be prepared to sign up and pay for the luncheon (price unavailable as this goes to press) on Nov.r 7.

We will have all the fun our club is known for, but have plans for new beginnings as well: Less formal luncheons and more time socializing, eating, and drinking on the Pro Shop deck. Our annual Member/Guest tournament in March is always an event NOT to be missed. Last year’s theme of Clowning Around the Course will be hard to beat, but we can do it, and the only sure way of getting to play is to be a member! We create a notebook of members, complete with contact info and photos—a handy reference for when you have forgotten the name of the person you just played with. You get the idea… join in for a season of fun, golf, and new friends.
