Line Dancing with Judee

We aren’t dancing during July and August, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t thinking about, longing for and really missing line dancing. It’s just not for all the previous reasons listed but mostly withdrawal for not being with the dancers who have been in my classes. We actually miss each other and are very concerned for those healing from surgeries, falls and pains that come with “as you get older” and body parts that aren’t cooperating with our mind set that is saying, “I can’t be getting older.”

Several things inspiring us to get back to dancing in September are missing the exercise of body and mind; the music; the satisfaction of learning new dances and dancing those we love; and the people who have joined line dancing with Judee.

The more important things that will get us back on the dance floor are the following: 1. Incentive – “a thing that motivates or encourages one to do something”

2. Admiration – “respect and warm approval and appreciation of others”

3. Companionship – “a feeling of fellowship or friendship”

4. Humor – “the quality of being amusing or comic”

5. Fun – “enjoyment, amusement, or lighthearted pleasure”

Yes, I looked up fun. I knew what it was, but have never seen a written definition. The quotes are from “The Dictionary” on my computer and they all describe the dancers who have been attending my classes.

If you would like to join us on Monday, September 7 (yes, Labor Day), in the SunBird Ballroom call Judee Curtis at 480-802-0201 after 10:00 a.m. to register for the Ultra Basic Class. Your class is at noon for $3. You will be dancing the first time you come and will be staying as long as “I’m not tired;” “This is still easy to me;” “I can still listen and take in directions;” “I know my own name.” You will know when we have moved on to the next level because the dances will get more difficult plus it will be announced.

Come dance with us and escape for a while from this crazy world. You will then know why we say, “God bless line dancing” and let’s “shake it off!”
