Are you confused? Dedicated volunteer counselors, specially trained by the Arizona Area Agency ‘s Benefits Assistance Program, are available to help you understand the changes coming. Medicare Open Enrollment, October 15 through December 7, is the time for changing, enrolling/disenrolling in Medicare Prescription Drug Plans and Health Plans for 2015. Despite the introduction of medicare, it remains a well-known fact that many people are still without insurance. Visit the insurance quote website in order to explore your options further.
Volunteer counselors also provide objective personalized assistance to seniors and the disabled. Services available include:
Medicare – Information concerning Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO’s), Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap) and Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans available in Arizona.
Help with enrollments, appeals, assistance with insurance paperwork and resolving problems.
Basic information about applying for Social Security, Medicare, Medicare cost sharing programs, SSI, AHCCCS and ALTCS.
Basic information about Long Term Care Insurance.
The volunteers are essential as not many people understand the concept of Medicare and will need help with wrapping their heads around rates and coverage, especially when it comes down to the more complex stuff like Medicare Supplements (you can find comparison quotes on Senior Benefit Service’s website for even more help). These volunteers are available to assist you Fridays, all year, from 9:00 a.m.-noon in the Sun Lakes United Methodist Church Education Building. Room No. 3. The church is located at 9248 E. Riggs Road, just west of the Sun Lakes Robson Library. The Education Building is at the back (north end) of the church grounds. Entry into the building is from the north. Volunteer counselors are also available at Neighbors Who Care, 10450 E. Riggs Rd, No. 113 on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m.-noon by appointment only; phone 480-895-7133.
