New Adventures in Learning, a lifelong-learning program, elected officers for 2019 at its Annual Meeting of the Membership on January 18, 2019. Bill Haskell is the new president and will serve a two-year term. Larry Noser, as president-elect, will take over that position in 2021. Lita Swanson, who has been secretary since 2011, will continue in her role. Bill McCoach is serving as treasurer, completing the second year of a vacated two-year term.

Bill Haskell retired from a Midwest gas utility where he had been Director of I/T. As president, he has four goals: to expand membership from surrounding communities, to increase volunteerism in support of New Adventures’ activities, to increase opportunities for more social interactions and to continue to implement the new online registration system for members. He has been instrumental in establishing a Help Desk to aid with the media needs of presenters.

Larry Noser is a retired general manager for the metals industry and a former small business owner. He has volunteered on the Curriculum Committee for several years and is also working to design the Help Desk. Lita Swanson was born and raised on Guam, then moved to Washington State to attend Gonzaga University. Lita reveals, “I found out about New Adventures when I discovered that the Council needed a secretary. I said I could do it even before I joined or took any classes.” Bill McCoach was a chief financial officer before he retired and has been active in Rotary.
