Another Ace! Tom Wheaton holed his tee shot on Lakes No. 6 during MOGA competition on October 2. Congratulations, Tom.

With the Oakwood golf course closed for overseeding for three weeks during October, MOGA played only two events. During that period, the MOGA Board of Directors and Committees took advantage of the break in playing golf to plan the 2015 season.

The first of the two October events was an ABCD One-Net plus One-Gross on October 2. The morning round Flight 1 was won by the team of Alan Gibbs, Tom Wheaton, Charlie Tourville and Gene McIntyre; the morning Flight 2 winners were Tom Courtney, Bob Dillon, John Kolb and Robert Greene; the team of Gary Leath, Ed Thorn, Ken Collier and Pat Dooley was the winner of the afternoon Flight.

The second October event, an ABCD Shamble, was played on October 30. The morning round saw two teams tie for the win; Team 12 with Alan Gibbs, James Utter, Billy Walberg and James Harris and Team 15 with Frank Pattie, TJ Jones, Tom Jones and Ted Brown. In the afternoon, Team 1 with Gregg Heinemann, Richard Winkelman, Roger Rinderkneckt and Bill Schaurmann and Team 7 with Robert Schneider, Jack Sanders, Mario Del Col and Orazio Fusco, Team 8 with Ed Thorn, Harry Johnson and Roger Nordin tied for the win.

MOGA is the Men’s Oakwood Golf Association whose weekly events are held on Thursdays. A variety of golf game formats provides the members with both individual and team challenges.
