We started the month with the first round of our annual Home & Home with Oakwood on August 8. As usual we all had a great time. On August 15 we played a two man team, blind draw, flighted format. The winning team in the first flight was Bob Rouleau and Cliff Joyes with a 53 and the winning team in the second flight was Bob Keltz and Jim Davis with a 51.

On August 22 we played a two man team, one best ball, flighted format. The winning teams were: First flight, Jack Hill and Richard Hawkes with a 49 and second flight was Vaughn Torgusen and Bill McCoach with a 49. On August 29 we played a three net best balls format. There were two teams tied for first. The two winning teams, with a 165, were Ed Johnson, Peter Gorman, Carey Pennington and Jim Vernon and the other was Dennis Bockelman, Jack Hall, Jim Davis and Bill McCoach.

On September 5 we played an individual Stableford, flighted format. The winners were first flight Bob Rouleau with a 36 and second flight was Jeff Martin with a 39; another great month for golf.

Our October schedule is rather short. On October 3 we have a Palo Verde and Cottonwood beat the Pro/Super event. On October 5 Palo Verde Golf Course will shut down for overseeding through October 26. On October 31 we will be playing a Member/Member, one best ball net format. Other future events include our annual Welcome Back Picnic on November 7 and our annual Christmas Dinner Dance on December 5.
