The Sun Lakes Pickleball Club Cottonwood, from the Cottonwood Palo Verde community at Alma School and Riggs Road, has done it again! For the last several years, the club has been collecting funds and other donations for the Hamilton Kids at Hamilton High School in Chandler. These are kids of needy families or families who are homeless. Sometimes, it’s the kids themselves who have no home. The club opens their hearts and their wallets every single year.

This year is especially tough because of COVID-19. More kids and more families are in need, and the high school has seen an increase in families coming for help. So, Charlotte Nichol, club treasurer and member extraordinaire, launched this year’s campaign. She called it the Fill A Truck Campaign and asked the club members to do just that. And do that they did! In fact, they filled two pickup trucks with food, cleaning supplies, toiletries like shampoo and soap and deodorant, and lots of other goodies. The bags and boxes of food and supplies just kept coming.

Congratulations to the Sun Lakes Pickleball Club Cottonwood for coming through for the Hamilton Kids and their families! They say they can’t wait until next year!
