Fall is approaching; our snowbird friends are preparing for the journey south; the monsoons are trying to muster a final onslaught and the Palo Verde men have been continuing the Saturday summer morning ritual on the links. The results for August league play:

On August 13 a Scramble was won by Wes Davis, Mike Tennant and Tony Huffman.

On August 20 a Triple Six event was won (with a score of 93) by Cliff Joyes, Gerald Brock, Glen Harry and Ken Nelson.

On August 27 a Two Man Blind Draw – One Net BB contest was won with a net score of 44 by Cliff Joyes and Vaughn Torgusen.

On September 3, the Two Man Team – One Net BB winners were Ken Stanley and Ken Pearson.

On September 10 a Select-A-Drive competition was won (with a low score of 82!) by Bill Skrei, Tony Forbes, Tom Holmen and Bill Phillips.

This event was followed by brunch and a general meeting of the Association.

We are saddened to report the passing of Barry Mostovoy in July. Barry served as president of this association in 2012 and in addition to his love of golf, was very active in the community. He will be missed by his many friends and associates.

We would invite those interested in joining our group to inquire by dropping in or calling our Pro Shop at 480-895-0330. You, too, may be inducted into our Hall of Fame by shooting an ace, as did John Mitchell this summer!
