Jim Davis, Publicity
October started out very slow as the course was closed through Monday, October 20 with our first outing on the newly overseeded course being on October 25, at which we played Beat the Pros and Superintendents. A good time was had by all and especially those groups that beat the Pros and Superintendents.
On November 1 we had a One Best Ball Gross Plus One Best Ball Net format for the foursomes. The winning foursome included Jack Hill, Adrian Barber, Norm Parisian and Bob Mansfield. On November 8 we had our annual Ladies and Mens challenge where each foursome was comprised of two ladies and two men competing against each other in a Match Play format. At the end of the day, both sides ended up in a tie with the ladies teams winning eight matches and the men winning eight matches, but all, or most of the players had fun whether they won or lost.
Our December calendar starts off on the morning of the December 6 with a Scrabble format and there is no afternoon game as that is the day of our annual PVMGA Christmas Dinner Dance at 5:00 p.m. On December 13 we have our Ace of Ace’s Final with lunch and annual meeting to follow. The afternoon group will play a Two Best Ball Net format. On December 20 both morning and afternoon will be playing a Select-A-Drive, Two Best Balls Net format and the final Saturday of the month, December 27, will have for the morning group a Designated Driver format and the afternoon group will have a Two Best Balls format. It is great to see you all each week.
