Republican Club September 11 Meeting

The Sun Lakes Republican Club will feature “What’s On My Ballot?” with keynote speakers Aimee Yentes, VP of Policy, and Greg Blackie, Deputy Director of Policy, of the Arizona Free Enterprise Club at its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m., in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club located at 25601 S. Sun Lakes Blvd., in Sun Lakes. The public is invited! Please bring your neighbors and friends! Our mission is “education for an informed electorate.”

Fourteen propositions were filed for the November General Election ballot. This year’s ballot will be a long one! And at the time of this writing, several lawsuits were still pending challenging some of the citizen initiatives. (The deadline to finalize the ballot was Aug. 23.) Currently, what is on the ballot is still a mystery! Please come to our Sept. 11 meeting to learn from two policy experts who will explain and answer your questions about the ballot propositions that survived the lawsuits.

Aimee Yentes is a native-born Arizonan who grew up in Tempe and Gilbert. She is a graduate of Arizona State University, W.P Carey School of Business, with a degree in business communications.

Yentes has worked in a variety of professional capacities, including private small business, government, and the nonprofit sector. She has worked for the Arizona Free Enterprise Club since 2015 where she helps to craft and promote good public policy at the state level. Aimee was also elected to serve on the Gilbert Town Council during 2018 to 2022.

Greg Blackie is originally from Tennessee and moved to Arizona in 2016 to attend Arizona State University where he graduated summa cum laude with a B.S in political science in 2019. During his last semester, Greg was a full-time policy intern at the Arizona House of Representatives for the Republican caucus. Before joining the Arizona Free Enterprise Club, Greg worked with small businesses in Scottsdale and Northern Phoenix for the UPS Small Package SMB unit, followed by political tracking with America Rising where he covered many Arizona campaigns.

The meeting will begin with an update from LD 13 State Senator JD Mesnard and State Representative Julie Willoughby, as well as former State Representative and candidate Jeff Weninger. We have a jam-packed agenda to assist you in making the right choices before the upcoming November election!
