San Tan Crown Rotary Club, Chandler, AZ sponsored the first annual Hooked on Healing Veterans motorcycle ride to benefit disabled, homeless and in-need local veterans. Both Arizona Standdown and Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing support our veterans in need by helping them rehabilitate both emotionally and physically.

Of note for Sun Lakes residents, our own Sun Lakes Fly Fishing Club hosts the veterans from Project Healing Waters to fly fishing excursions on our finger lakes system at least four times annually. Sun Lakes resident and Sun Lakes Fly Fishing Club leader, George Abernathy, was instrumental in putting San Tan Crown Rotary and Project Healing Waters together. We are already in the midst of planning for our 2017 Hooked on Healing Veterans ride February 25, 2017.

For more information on how you can get involved in volunteering for either San Tan Crown Rotary or Hooked on Healing Veterans ride please call Sun Lakes resident and Rotary member Stan Kaufman at 701-238-2310 or email at [email protected].
